 Lightweight and incredibly strong

Perhaps the most widely used edge protector today is a fiberboard edge protector. Fiberboard has no fluting and is simply layer upon layer of paper stacked until a thickness is achieved. The most common thicknesses being .120, .160 and .225. The end result of so many layers of stacked paper is that fiberboard edge protectors are relatively heavy.

As a result, surcharges for being overweight prevent  buyers of large quantities from buying full truckloads resulting in inefficient shipments and greater expense.

The difference between Tuff-Angle and ordinary fiberboard edge protectors  is that Tuff-Angle is a corrugated fiberboard. Meaning that Tuff-Angle corner post use a corrugated sheet with full liners and fluting that are folded and refolded into layers resulting in a thicker edge protector with less material.  Not as many layers are necessary to achieve height. The result is an edge protector that weighs less and buyers can order more per truckload.
